How Do I Grow Wheatgrass?
1. Purchase a wheat grass juicer and a
home wheat grass growing kit. We offer them
at the WheatgrassHome store.
2. Once your wheat grass growing kit and wheat grass juicer arrive soak 1
cup (125g) of organic wheat grass seed (a.k.a. wheat berry) for 8-12
hours.
3. Drain seeds and then rinse thoroughly with cold running water three
or four times until water runs clear.
4. Place growing compost in tray to even depth of 1-1.5 inches
(25-40mm).
5. Distribute sprouted seeds evenly over the soil making sure the seeds
aren't smothered by each other but close enough together that you get a
good yield of grass.
6. Soak seeds and soil thoroughly with water (ideally with a small
watering can) until they begin to sprout.
7. Leave in a dark, shady place (cover with a dark top or place in a
dark cupboard) at room temperature 68-86F (20-30ÂșC) for 2-3 days.
8. Then move into a bright area avoiding direct sunlight (a windowsill
is a good place).
9. It is important to keep wheat grass well watered at all times, but
not waterlogged.
10. If mold does form on the soil, just harvest above the mold and wash
well.
11. Harvest with scissors
when wheat grass reaches 6-10inches (7-10 days).
12. Juice using only a slow turning wheat grass juicer. Blenders and
other home juicers don't work as they simply chop and oxidize the grass.
Chopped grass cannot be digested.

Wheatgrass juice is an acquired taste and is strong to some people. Is customary to mix wheatgrass juice with other blended fruits to dilute the taste or take it as a shot of 1-2 ounces. Wheatgrasshome offers many recipes on it
wheatgrass juice recipes page. Remember only 1oz of wheatgrass juice is equivalent to 2 1/2 pounds of green vegetables!
What If I Don't Have a Garden to Grow Wheatgrass at Home?
That's okay. For this reason Wheatgrasshome offers
home growing kits that can be easily used to grow fresh and organic wheatgrass right from your kitchen. The growing trays are only 10 inches by 20 inches so they don't take up much room at all.
Can I Juice Wheatgrass With Any Fruit Juicer?
No, wheatgrass blades need to be juiced with a slow churning wheatgrass juicer. Ordinary fruit juicers and blenders will only chop and oxidize the grass, not extract the juice. The manual wheatgrass juicers and the electric wheatgrass juicers in the
WheatgrassHome Store were designed to extract the most juice from each of your harvests.
Does Wheatgrass Help Cure Acne?

Does Wheatgrass Strengthen Hair?
Yes, there are many testimonials out there that tell how wheatgrass made their hair stronger and shinier.
I am looking to to buying a wheatgrass
kit and juicer. I am curious, once you plant the wheatgrass and cut and
juice it, do you have to replant more seeds or will the original grass
continue to grow and continue to be able to be cut and juiced? Or are
the seeds a one time use thing? Thank you.
Answer: You will always get at least one great harvest from a
planting and sometimes 2 harvests. After the harvest(s), the soil will
need to be removed from the planting tray (hopefully to a compost pile)
and you would need to start the growing process again with more seeds.
The reason for this is that all of the nutrients in the soil will be
already absorbed at that point and fresh soil (full of nutrients) will
need to be added to grow dark green wheatgrass once again.
Some
people enjoy growing wheatgrass without soil by using a an automatic
sprouter like the Easy Green Sprouter or the Sproutman Sprouter. Also
remember that once your cut your wheatgrass try and juice it and drink
it within 5 minutes to enjoy all of it's nutritional benefits. The live
enzymes begin to die off after a few minutes.
